| TThe Debut CD by Red Archibald and the Internationals, "It
Just Won't Go Away" on BlueTone Records has been praised by
all...a great debut! The mixture of nine originals and
three stylized covers is a combination of the many hats that
Red and The Internationals wear.
Alot of the media critics focused in on the jump blues aspect of
the repotoire (probably because they do it so well). True, they do
jump and swing like mad but there's alot more too! Much of the
band's writing leans into Rhythm and Blues with a little funky edge.
Of course, then there's the straight-up roots and blues influences
and so on...
Joseph Jordan from Blues Access Magazine described the music the
best, "A stew of West Coast Soul." For now, we'll just leave it at
that!
